Apr. 3rd, 2011 01:51 amNo longer sick (just a bit under the weather).
The next two days off!
...and I have a paper and an assignment to do. I'm telling myself I will finish it in a timely manner. I figure if I keep telling myself that it'll get all done on Monday.
Sigh. I really have to figure out someway to effectively cram homework in on my workdays. It probably involves my body getting used to power walking most of the day and carrying competition weight leather jackets/drag suits around two and three at a time.
I'm tired. I think I'm still up because I thought it'd be fun to drink another Monster at like, 10:30PM and stay up late. Hooray.

Remarkably, Microsoft Administration homework was started on time (with a stern talking to myself. By myself). More remarkably was that it didn't cause any horror, there were only 5 videos for the chapter (rather than fifteen, literally). First assignment that wasn't horrifically painful for that class. Probably because it involved actually utilous elements I already knew and much usage of the command-line, which I prefer.
Now for music rambling.
Really not feeling the new Junior Boys single:
It sounds like a demo of a song they would record. I hope they're not trying to do any minimalism. Their last album was so lush. Frankly, I was kind of hoping for a Hazel redux with a bit more pop conviction.
Speaking of pop conviction, I really wish someone with the vocal chops capable enough would commit to bringing back a proper hi-NRG revival. There was hope with Christina's bionic (although thank La TOya, she didn't -- can't stand her!), but someone must be brave enough. It'll probably be Ke$ha, help us all.
Mostly that ramble was an excuse to post the above. Get lost in its extravaganza, darling. I live for that last verse: So really who cares about luh-HUV/Who wants that feeling taken away? For 52 weeks! of every year! there's a new man every!day!. Remember when singers got famous because of their vocal chops? We miss you already, Lolleata.
Edit: Miquel Brown is notably the mother of UK pop sensation, Sinitta, who recorded such gay-coded hi-nrg singles (and hits) So Macho, Cruising, and Toy Boy. Legacy disco gay-baiting singles. AMAZEY

Mar. 12th, 2011 05:09 pmWell, my prediction of the actual events of yesterday was about right on. Got home quite tipsy at 1:30 AM, but fell asleep pretty quick.
...
to wake up at 6:30AM today! (in fairness, I only got out of bed at 7:30). No hangover, just tirrrrred.
Now I have a bunch of homework to do since next week I START WORKING AGAIN. My new employer is a (relatively) small business and has an HTML website that no one. NO ONE. apparently knows how to update. I'm tempted to run out and get a little HTML booklet to refresh some of the finer points just to impress them.

Mar. 9th, 2011 04:30 pmEven though I usually start with water types
I always know I SHOULD start with the fire type.
And I did this time. But what tipped my decision over the fairly disgruntled otter was the fact that the pig was a) smiling, b) had bandito shading, and c) looked like he was wearing pig underpants! I COULD NOT RESIST.
I am on route 2. Lillipup is ridiculous and i want to keep her 4-evah.

Mar. 7th, 2011 09:21 pmNow what the hell am I supposed to do with this thing?
I think I'll enrich all your lives with the following video. MY DREAM DRAG PERFORMANCE: to stage a full theatre re-enactment of this music video. The tiger to be replaced with one of those dyed shaggy dogs.
